As the company grew, so did the Spall family. When he was in eighth grade Ted Spall, Jr. began to work with his father. At first it was odd jobs, then later the carpentry crew, dozer operation, junior supervisor and supervisor. While at Syracuse University he obtained his real estate license. At 21, he was the youngest real estate broker in New York state. After graduation, Ted, Jr. joined the family business full time. In 1971 he became its president. All the while Spall Homes continued to grow, eventually building in most communities in Monroe County - Greece, Chili, Gates, Churchville, Mendon, Victor, Brighton, Perinton, Fairport and Pittsford - an estimated 1,500 plus homes.

Stacey Spall Smith, Ted Jr.'s daughter, joined the company full time in 1999 as a sales representative. This marked the third generation of the Spall family in the home building business.
