As the company grew, so did the
Spall family. When he was in eighth grade Ted Spall, Jr. began to
work with his father. At first it was odd jobs, then later the carpentry
crew, dozer operation, junior supervisor and supervisor. While at
Syracuse University he obtained his real estate license. At 21,
he was the youngest real estate broker in New York state. After
graduation, Ted, Jr. joined the family business full time. In 1971
he became its president. All the while Spall Homes continued to
grow, eventually building in most communities in Monroe County -
Greece, Chili, Gates, Churchville, Mendon, Victor, Brighton, Perinton,
Fairport and Pittsford - an estimated 1,500 plus homes.
Stacey Spall Smith, Ted Jr.'s
daughter, joined the company full time in 1999 as a sales representative.
This marked the third generation of the Spall family in the home building business.
